When to convert HEIC to PNG
Default iPhone photo format. Decoded on your device before upscaling, 10-bit files need an 8-bit copy first.
PNG is lossless, so later edits and re-saves never add artefacts, and it keeps transparent backgrounds.

Questions
Is converting HEIC to PNG free?
Yes. Conversion runs in your browser on every plan, with no account, no watermark and batches of up to 200 files.
Are my HEIC files uploaded?
No. The browser decodes each file and encodes the new one on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does converting HEIC to PNG lose quality?
No further loss: PNG stores every pixel exactly. It cannot bring back detail an earlier lossy save removed, and the file is often larger than the original.
Can I make the PNG bigger at the same time?
Converting keeps the pixel size. To enlarge, run the upscaler afterwards: 2× is free and also runs on your device.
Why will my HEIC not open on Windows?
Windows needs an extra codec for HEIC. Converting to JPG or PNG gives a file that opens without it.
