How to upscale AVIF 4×

  1. Open the upscaler and drop your .avif files. Free batches take 5 files, Pro batches take 200.
  2. Choose 4× and a model: Photo for camera shots, Illustration for art and logos, Scanned text for documents.
  3. Pick WEBP as the output format, or PNG if you need lossless pixels.
  4. Start the batch and download each file or a ZIP of all of them.

Questions

Is upscaling AVIF 4× free?

4× is part of the Pro plan. The free plan covers 2× for 5 images a day.

Does my AVIF file upload anywhere?

No. At 4× the image is decoded and enlarged inside your browser, and the file never leaves your device.

How big is a AVIF after 4× upscaling?

Width and height both grow 4 times, so the pixel count grows 16 times. A 1920 × 1080 image becomes 7,680 × 4,320, about 7.9 MB as WEBP.

Which browsers can open AVIF files?

Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all decode AVIF. The upscaled result is written as WEBP, PNG or JPG, because the engine does not encode AVIF.

Why does 4× need Pro if it runs on my device?

4× is part of the Pro plan. The work still happens in your browser, so your files do not upload even on Pro.
